A dog walking bag is the accessory I didn’t know I needed when I got my puppy, but now it’s something I wouldn’t be without. I can easily run out the door for our next walk, and just grab my bag with all the dog walking essentials in it. No longer will you set out on your walk and realise you put the wrong coat on – the one with no poo bags in the pocket.
When I started seeing advertisements for the Cocopup dog walking bag, I knew I had to have one. I was immediately drawn in by the stylish designs, and handy features. Not to mention the wipe clean waterproof fabric, so I could be assured it would withstand my muddy Springador puppy, Honey, jumping up at me.
Let me talk you through the brand, the features of the dog walking bag – and all the reasons I love it.

Who are Cocopup?
Cocopup was born during the 2020 lockdown, when one of the business founders got a puppy. Already owning an accessories business called Coconut Lane, entrepreneurs Jess and Charlie expanded their business into dog walking accessories, and created Cocopup.
The dog walking bag was their flagship product, and now they sell a fantastic range of dog accessories. All designed with stylish dog moms in mind, your pup can rock a fashionable harness, collar and lead set, while you have the matching bag strap and phone case!
The Cocopup Dog Walking Bag
There are so many reasons I love using this dog walking bag. It helps me to stay organised as I’ve always got my dog essentials on me when I go for a walk. I’m never forgetting things because I’ve left them in the wrong coat pocket, like my recall whistle. It’s particularly great in warmer weather, when you don’t have a coat on with pockets. It comes into its own when you are going to a coffee shop or cafe with your pooch, as it is so stylish and big enough for my few essentials as well. For tips on taking your dog to cafes, read this blog post where I discuss how I socialised my puppy in cafes. Lets go through all the best features of this dog walking bag.

Stylish Interchangeable straps
One of the stand out selling points of this bag, is the stylish and interchangeable straps. At the point of writing this review, there are FIFTY SEVEN different cross body straps for you to choose from on the Cocopup website. There are styles to suit every personality. I love that you can change up your whole look by just changing the strap, rather than having to get a new bag.
When you order your bag, you can choose the colour of your bag and then choose which strap you want to go with it as a £38 bundle – it couldn’t be easier! Then if you want to order any additional straps, they range from around £10 – £14. Or you can order a mystery strap for £7.
I have the Ivory Torte strap, and I love it. It’s super stylish and matches most of my outfits, but I’m definitely going to invest in the Monochrome spots strap next. The bag straps are wide enough that they sit really comfortably on your shoulder without digging in.
A newer product Cocopup have released are bumbag straps. There are just 9 designs for these, and they are shorter and have a buckle on so you can wear your existing bag as a bum bag instead. This makes your dog walking bag even more versatile. For a longer walk, wearing a bum bag can be more comfortable than a cross body bag.
It’s the perfect size
This bag is big enough for all your essentials, but small enough it won’t weigh you down. Here is everything I can fit in my bag: my phone, car keys, a hand sanitizer, a packet of tissues, a dog whistle, and a tennis ball. Not to mention the poo bags and plenty of treats!
Handy Treat Pouch
Attached to the strap of your bag is a handy treat pouch. You can fit about half a bag of standard dog treats in here, to keep you puppy powered for a good long walk. Having the treat pouch on the strap of your bag means it is always easily accessible, and you aren’t filling your clothes pockets with crumbs!
Poo Bag Dispenser
Inside the dog walking bag, there is a small pouch to put a roll of poo bags in. From there you can feed the end of the first bag through the rubber poo bag dispenser. This means you can quickly and easily tear off your next poo bag without rummaging through your bag. Although this is a clever feature, it isn’t one of my favourites. It seems strange to me to have such a stylish bag, with a plastic poo bag sticking out the side of it. For me, it slightly ruins the sleek and stylish look of the bag, so I prefer not to use it normally.
Outside and inside zip pockets
The Cocpup dog walking bag has a zip pocket on the inside, and on the outside. This is really handy to keep certain smaller items separate in your bag. In the outside pocket, of course I just have some extra big dog treats like gravy bones.
Waterproof fabric
Of course this is essential for a dog walking bag in the UK. The great British weather guarantees at least 50% of dog walks are in the rain. Not only are your belongings protected from the rain, but also the fabric means it’s wipe clean. If your muddy dog jumps up at you, with a bit of water and a cloth your bag will look brand new again.
What’s the verdict?
Well is should be pretty obvious as I have sung the praises of this dog walking bag for the whole blog post, but I absolutely love it. I have had my bag for over a year now, and there is no wear or tear to it. This is thanks to the durability of the bag, and easy cleaning of the fabric.
I love the sustainable business model Cocopup has created. By creating the interchangeable straps, their dog walking bags can last much longer, and keep customers coming back for more. The fact you can get different straps to match your dog’s accessories is so unique – you can be the most stylish dog mom in town.
Overall just having a dog walking bag helped me feel put together, in the initial chaos of having a puppy (and now teenage) dog. If you’re going to get a dog walking bag, you should definitely consider this one from Cocopup. Check out their website here.
